Simple, quick and affordable food for normal people
Preparing and eating food shouldn’t be hard, take too much time and effort, or cost you the earth. In this blog I’ll be sharing my limited kitchen wisdom in the hope that some people will find my recipes and tips useful for creating a simple repertoire of (semi) healthy, (semi) home cooked meals.
I’ve been cooking for 13 years in a home kitchen, worked in restaurants and hotels for 6 years and have had a chronic fatigue disorder for the last two. Everything I do in the kitchen has to be economical; in energy, effort and affordability.
Most of the ingredients in these recipes will also be easy to purchase, no running round farmers markets or speciality food stores to find a very particular spice mix or exotic vegetable. I don’t have time or energy to waste on that kind of nonsense and you probably don’t either.
So the recipes in this blog will be suitable for busy, normal people with regular kitchens and equipment, who shop in normal supermarkets, or (lets be honest) run into a Tesco Express on the way home from work.
